Ning to BuddyPress Importer

When Ning.com announced they would be going to a premium model, this forced many Ning Network Owners to look for a low cost solution to run their blogs and social networks. Wyclef Jean Commencement Ceremony

On Sunday, May 23rd, Western Connecticut State University (wcsu.edu) commemorated its new $97 million School of Music and Visual Arts with a commencement address by Grammy Award-winning recording artist and humanitarian, Wyclef Jean. WestConn, one of the four campuses operated by Connecticut State University, has carved a niche for itself by fostering its commitment for music and arts and was searching for a commencement speaker who had notable contributions in the field of arts and humanity. On behalf of the University, DSW secured Wyclef, who was selected to receive an honorary doctorate for his contributions in music and his humanitarian efforts benefiting Haiti through his Yelé Haiti foundation, an organization that is contributing to rebuilding Haiti after the devastating earthquake struck the country earlier this year.

DSW launches HipHopMuseum.org

The crew at the National Museum of Hip Hop faced a dilemna with their web site. A web development company had donated design and development to the non-profit, but a key employee driving the project left the company and the site went unfinished. NMoH turned to DSW to complete the site. We found that the underlying code was based on tables and not standards compliant CSS. Not only could this affect page load times, but it would also take a toll on SEO, and it created issues with the layout of the blog, which was severely broken.
